sa.ne.na and MIAM Percussion Ensemble were organising a contemporary percussion concert as a part of MIAM’s 15th anniversary celebrations, and they asked me and Görkem Özdemir if we could set up a visual accompaniment for Louis Andriessen’s 17-minute piece “Workers Union”. We brought together old footages of machinery and factories, used the ensemble’s sound as input for real-time triggering, and mixed everything live following the score.
